Efecto de quiebra barriga (Trichanthera gigantea) y botón de oro (Tithonia diversifolia) como suplementación alimenticia en el engorde de toretes Holstein Friesian Mestizos, en el cantón Yantzaza

This research " EFECTO DE QUIEBRA BARRIGA (Trichanthera gigantean) Y BOTÓN DE ORO (Tithonia diversifolia) COMO SUPLEMENTACIÓN ALIMENTICIA EN EL ENGORDE DE TORETES HOLSTEIN FRIESIAN MESTIZOS, EN EL CANTÓN YANTZAZA ", was carried out at the Experimental Farm “ El Padmi” located at 5 km from “Los Encuentros” parish, that belongs to th Yantzaza canton, which purpose was to evaluate the effect of supplementation with forage shrub species in the fattening of steers and in this way to contribute in the development of livestock in the area. The following variables were studied: feed intake, increased weight, feed conversion, nutritional value of the tree, palatability and profitability, which was 6 Holstein for this reason there were used 6 half breed bulls that they were distributed in a double 3 x 3 Latin square design. The treatments were: (T1) grass chopped Trichanthera gigantea supplementation; (T2) grass chopped + Buttercup supplementation; and, (T3) grass chopping. The results showed a greater consumption is recorded in T2 (Golden button) with 5.06 Kg/day. Registered the largest increase of weight T2 with 0,619 Kg/day. The best feed conversion has, 47,4 Kg of grass Trichanthera gigantea and 6.1 kg of supplement , to be converted it is needed a kilo of meat. The shrub with higher protein percentage is Trichanthera gigantea with 19.33%, it outperforms the gold button with 15.35%. The gold button, has the highest percentage of palatability with 86%. The gold button had greater profitability, 8.60%, in the 63 days of experimentation. Keywords: bush, fattening, palatability, nutritional value, profitability
