Crynodeb:The utilization of health services expresses the proportion of people who need a service and actually receive it. This research was aimed at identifying the sociodemographic factors of the inhabitants of El Paraíso Neighborhood and their influence on the utilization of health services that affect their perception of the quality of care received. The research had a quantitative descriptive approach. A sociodemographic survey was applied to 292 users of Health Center No. 3, finding that the predominant group in relation to attendance is female between 36-45 years of age with a prevalence of the mestizo group. Thirty-seven percent have a third level of education and 75% have an income higher than the unified basic salary. The instrument used to measure the quality of service is the SERVQUAL scale. As a result of the research it was found that users are at a level: Extremely dissatisfied and dissatisfied on a Likert measurement scale, with an associated value of 37%. These indices are related to the area of control or follow-up, which are the areas where most work is done at Health Center No. 3 of Loja. These records show the user's perception, which are below the expected expectations, which leads to the design of a proposal for quality improvement.
