要約:Preventive measures against several threats help communities to prepare and organize them for disastrous events, as in the case of different sectors in Cariamanga parish. For this reason, a micro-basin area has been evaluated to determine the level of overflow of the “Totoras” river and their affected areas. Due to hydrological resources in this zona, population face an increased risk of flooding. Initially, the level of importance of the variables that condition the study area (slope, drainage density, geomorphology, land use and lithology) besides of the variable that could trigger this dangerous event (maximum intensity of precipitation) were based on multi-criteria analysis stablished by Saaty. Each independent variable was processed in the ArcGIS 10.4.1 software to obtain, through raster models, the susceptibility and threat to flooding in the sector. Once the areas where flooding would occur were obtained, the exposed elements in the study area were determined, where infrastructures, vital services and roads were identified, in addition to the inhabitants who would be affected. Finally, non-structural preventive measures were applied in the "Reina del Cisne" neighborhood for organizational reasons and because they are in a strategic area to monitor the instruments that have been proposed to be implemented in the "Las Totoras" stream, with this they will be able to alert the community and various organizations if there is an increase in the level of the stream. The purpose of this research project is to influence the different communities and establish commitments with the relevant agencies to prepare the inhabitants for threats such as floods.
