Тойм:This research study was carried out with the purpose of evaluating the effect of fatty acids omega 3 on the rate of fertility in mice (Mus musculus) in three reproductive cycles. For this purpose three treatments were defined (T1) diet base + Chia oil 3% + 2% olive oil; (T2) Diet base + 5% of chia oil; (T3) Diet base + 5% of olive oil as witness. Besides, 15 female mice of the CDR-51 strain were used, with an average weight of 31.6 ± 2.38 g per treatment; the supply of oil was included in food every morning. The variables studied were consumption of food, increase in weight, feed efficiency, fecundity rate and fertility rate. A mixed model of repeated measurements was used for statistical analysis. Fecundity was 47.6% and the fertility of 4.6 in the Group of animals that consumed the treatment two (Chia 5%). As conclusion, level of inclusion of omega 3 affected the form of variable fecundity and fertility, due to the lower results are obtained with the half- level of omega 3 (Chia 3%) while the best results are reached with the higher level of omega 3 (Chia 5%).
