| description | Laparoscopic cholecystectomy since its inception, even though of recognized benefits, is not without complications, and several authors consider that these even are higher than for conventional surgery, this is the reason that it developed the study called: "CHOLECYSTECTOMIES LAPAROSCOPIC COMPLICATIONS IN PATIENTS OPERATED IN THE MILITARY HOSPITAL FROM QUITO CITY OF THE PERIOD 2010 - 2014"; the principal objectives in this research were to determine the complications of laparoscopic cholecystectomy depending on the age and sex of patients, establish the complications of laparoscopic cholecystectomy according to previous diagnostics and personal medical history, describe the most common intraoperative complications laparoscopic cholecystectomy and analyze the most common immediate postoperative complications of laparoscopic cholecystectomy. This study was observational, descriptive and retrospective, users of the surgery department of the Military Hospital of Quito who underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy in the period 2010- 2014 with a sample of 691 patients were selected whose information was collected from medical records, with the following results: 9% (n = 64) had some type of complication and 91% (n = 627) of patients who underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy did not present any complication; intraoperative complications were hypotension with 1.6% followed by hypertension with 0.87% and hypothermia with 0.3%, all in males. Postoperative complications were 3.5% bleeding, peritonitis is the second most common with 0.3% and suture dehiscence with 1% all in males. Key words: Biliary complications, cholecystectomy, laparoscopic surgery.La colecistectomía laparoscópica desde sus inicios, y a pesar de sus ventajas reconocidas, no está exenta de complicaciones, y varios autores consideran que estas, incluso, son mayores que en el caso de la cirugía convencional, tal es el motivo por el cual se desarrolló el estudio denominado: “COMPLICACIONES DE LAS COLECISTECTOMÍAS LAPAROSCÓPICAS EN LOS PACIENTES OPERADOS EN EL HOSPITAL MILITAR DE QUITO PERÍODO 2010 - 2014; los objetivos es esta investigación fueron: determinar las complicaciones de las colecistectomías laparoscópicas en función de la edad y sexo de los pacientes , establecer las complicaciones de las colecistectomías laparoscópicas según el diagnóstico previo y los antecedentes patológicos personales, describir las complicaciones intraoperatorias más frecuentes de la colecistectomía laparoscópica y analizar las complicaciones posoperatorias inmediatas más frecuentes de la colecistectomía laparoscópica. El presente estudio fue de tipo observacional, descriptivo y retrospectivo, se seleccionaron los usuarios del servicio de cirugía del Hospital Militar de Quito que fueron sometidos a la colecistectomía laparoscópica en el periodo 2010- 2014 con una muestra de 691 pacientes cuya información fue recolectada de las historias clínicas, obteniéndose los siguientes resultados: un 9% (n= 64) presentaron algún tipo de complicación y el 91% (n=627) de pacientes a quienes se les realizó la colecistectomía laparoscópica no presentaron ningún tipo de complicación; las complicaciones intraoperatorias fueron hipotensión arterial con el 1.6% seguido de la hipertensión arterial con el 0.87% y la hipotermia con el 0.3%, todas en el sexo masculino. Las complicaciones postoperatorias fueron el 3.5% hemorragias, la peritonitis es la segunda más frecuente con el 0.3% y la dehiscencia de sutura con el 1% todas en el sexo masculino.
