| Samenvatting: | This research work called: “The Influence of eating habits on school performance of children of the seventh grade of the Lauro Damerval Ayora Educational Unit, in the city of Loja and the Social Worker Intervention”, through research The main findings of the field are shown in compliance with the specific objectives. The causes and consequences of the inadequate eating habits could be identified, such as analyzing the contexts that influence the eating habits, giving way to the design of a social action proposal from the perspective of Social Work to strengthen good eating habits. The results obtained in the research, show that the main causes for inadequate food habits is due to the choice of food for consumption within the home, which is not the amount consumed but the quality of nutrients in food , this is compounded by the limited time available for work and established hours for food at home, which results in health problems such as mal nutrition and low energy in children, such as overweight and obesity that affects physical condition and emotional of the students by the study, generating little participation and concentration in school activities. The methodology used for the elaboration of the investigation was the inductive-deductive method where generalized information of the institution was obtained with the perception of the students, teachers and parents, as well as the analytical-synthetic method which allowed to analyze the information collected. Techniques and instruments were used such as: observation, survey, semi-structured interviews, and questionnaires that allowed the 5 collection of information of the object of study, and then continue with the processing of information through the tabulation and analysis of data. The techniques used are the surveys applied to the educational trilogy, to 38 students, 38 parents / mothers of family and 6 teachers; Semi-structured interview with the psychologist of the institution through instruments such as the questionnaire based on criterion questions and multiple selections that allowed obtaining relevant information about the influence of eating habits on school performance. Finally, a proposal of social action was elaborated from the perspective of Social Work that allows to strengthen good eating habits, which includes activities and participatory tasks that allow participation and involvement of the educational trilogy where parents are an active part. in the education of their children. |
