Shrnutí:The present research work had as a general objective to know if the play favors the adaptation process in children of initial education I. The methods used were: scientific, analytical - synthetic and deductive. Among the instruments applied were: the survey aimed at teachers and the ABAS II Test, which allowed identifying the adaptive behaviors of children. The sample selected for the study was 17 children and 3 teachers. The results obtained in the diagnosis showed that there was difficulty in 82% in the social aspect and 89% in autonomy, while in affectivity there was a problem in 59%, where the children were never at the level, making it difficult for them to express their emotions. and showing that they were not adapted to the center. When executing the proposal with different types of games, it was evident that positive results were obtained, determining that 70% improved in aspects related to socialization, 82% in autonomy and 59% in the affective field, conc. Used as a methodological strategy, it allowed children to develop confidence and self-confidence, establishing social relationships between peers and with the teacher and overcoming the anxiety they felt when separating from their parents, thus favoring the adaptation process.
