| Sumari: | The fundamental means of human communication is oral language, through voice and speech, which allow the individual to express and understand ideas, thoughts, feelings, knowledge and activities; the development of this area in childhood is of utmost importance, since it is the instrument that will allow children to achieve satisfactory school learning. Thus, the present research focused on determining how audiovisual material helps to stimulate oral language in children of the Initial Level I of the Escuela de Educación Básica 18 de Noviembre of the city of Loja, academic period 2021-2022. The same was framed within a quantitative approach, with a quasi-experimental design, descriptive type and by means of the following methods: inductive, deductive, analytical-synthetic. To obtain the results, the Oral Language Test Navarre-Revised (PLON-R) was used as an instrument, which allowed the evaluation of a sample of 22 children, in which the initial result was that 18% of the children were at a normal level, while after the intervention of the didactic guide, which consisted of 40 activities, This shows that the application of audiovisual material as a methodological strategy is of great importance for the development of oral language, since it favors the articulation of phonemes, repetition of words and short phrases, comprehension and description of the characteristics of objects in the environment and spontaneous expression. In this way it is concluded that audiovisual material is a didactic medium that through images and recordings serves to communicate specific messages and provide knowledge, in such a way that it strengthens oral language in children since they feel motivated to imitate and create short dialogues that allow them to express themselves orally.
