الملخص:In the Panguintza the Centinela del Condor country, Zamora Chinchipe province in the year 2009-2013 under the economic sponsorship of SENESCYT and UNL, the investigation of project carried out "Management of soil fertility with coal amendments for forest species in the South of the Ecuadorian Amazon " the purpose was to generating alternatives for the productive reforestation of the degraded areas, in the time frame of a sustained management of the soil fertility. In the present investigation the general objective was to evaluate the incidence of coal, lime and mineral nutrients on the physical conditions of the soil. The factors studied were: fertilization: Cal (5 t ha -1), N (200 kg ha -1), P (150 kg ha -1), K (200 kg ha -1), Mg ), S (229 kg ha-1), Zn (40 kg ha-1) and without fertilization: (0 t ha-1 lime + 0 kg ha-1 nutrients); and coal (0 t ha-1, 3 t ha-1 and 6 t ha-1). The experimental design was bifactorial (2x3), by chance blocks, with six treatments and three repetitions. For the determination of the rate of performance infiltration used, the double ring method. The contour line humidity characteristic of was calculated by the suction equipment in the soil laboratory of the UNL, which undisturbed samples were taken with the 100 cm3 Koppecky cylinders which were subjected to pressures of 0. 1/10, 1/3 and 15 at, the results were evaluated the physical characteristics of the soil; in order to know the organic matter, and pH samples were taken altered. The basic infiltration rate average reached 0.528 cm/h as moderately slow and 2.32 cm/h considered as moderate. The aeration capacity of the different treatments were in the range of 1.48% to 2.50%, which corresponds physically very low; while the useable water was found in the high status; consequently the coal and lime did not influence the improvement of the physical conditions of the treatments keeping in the rank of very poor.
