Beskrivelse
Summary:In the present investigation, the effect of the qualitative restriction on ascitic syndrome in broiler raised in height was evaluated; for which, the warehouse number two of the Fifth Experimental Punzara of the National University of Loja was used, located to 2160 msnm. A completely randomized experimental design was applied, with 300 Cobb 500 broiler chickens, distributed in three treatments, with 10 experimental units, each consisting of 10 animals. Treatment 1 (negative control), consisted in feeding the animals ad libitum, with diets that cover the recommended requirements for the genetic line. In treatment two (qualitative restriction), the animals were fed diets, decreasing 10% of protein and metabolizable energy, of the recommendations of the genetic line, and replaced by 7% of fiber, fed ad libitum. In treatment three (quantitative restriction), 10% of the food consumption was restricted with respect to the consumption of the negative control group (treatment 1). The results obtained from the different variables; In the productive parameters differences are established during the growth stage (P <0.001), the animals under qualitative and quantitative restrictions obtained lower weights than the control treatment without restriction. However, in the last two weeks (fattening stage) they achieve a compensatory growth. The mortality by ascites registered with the qualitative restriction without applying the statistical analysis, obtained 14% unlike the other treatments with 21%. In the digestive parameters, the qualitative restriction increased the weights of: the proventriculus, small intestine, blind and heart. While with the quantitative restriction the crop, gizzard and liver had greater weight. Regarding the quality of the channel, no difference was determined, understanding that both qualitative and quantitative restrictions obtained a compensatory growth, reaching weights similar to the control treatment.
