Résumé:The objective of this research was to determine the influence between personality traits and social skills possessed by adolescents in the first year of high school at the Adolfo Valarezo Educational Unit, period 2022. The study had a non-experimental design of cross-sectional nature, in addition to a quantitative and correlational approach. The present study was carried out with the participation of 68 participants of the Unidad Educativa Adolfo Valarezo, where the application of the psychological reagent IPDE and the social skills scale was carried out. The results obtained from the variables showed the inexistence of the influence of personality traits on the social skills of adolescents in the first year of high school, where a medium level of social skills was demonstrated with a total of 32.4% and 67.6% within a high level of social skills, 6 % within a high level of social skills regardless of the personality traits that were evaluated, therefore, it is important to mention that personality traits are an important part in the formation of personality, and these are constituted in each of the stages of development through which the human being goes through, throughout his existence, such as, for example, individual differences, adaptation, the environment in which he lives; individual differences, adaptation, the environment in which he/she develops, cognitive processes, biological influences, childhood, adolescence and adult life, as well as experiences, etc. Therefore, an intervention plan was designed with a promotional character focused on the strengthening of social skills
