সংক্ষিপ্ত:This research conducted at the Zoo and Wildlife Protection "Parque Orillas del Zamora", aimed to analyze the welfare of six species kept in captivity. The groups studied were composed of 2 units of puma (Puma concolor), 2 units of ocelot (Leopardus pardalis), 2 units of fox (Lycalopex sechurae), 2 units of bear (Tremarctos ornatus), 1 unit of amingo (Eira barbara) and 1 unit of kinkajou (Potos flavus); to which was applied a ethogram developed based on the activities they could perform within their habitat, activities were recorded every five minutes being analyzed in a total of 10 hours, of which; five were studied on cloudy-rainy morning and five hours cloudy-rainy afternoon, except kinkajou (Eira barbara) which was analyzed at night five hours on cloudy days and five hours on rainy days because of their nocturnal habits. The results of the puma copies, ocelot, fox, bear, amingo and kinkajou, have values greater than 0.05, showing that not show significant differences in their behavior, their activities are not influenced by conditions climate and weather. In addition a survey was applied to 245 people who visited the zoo to learn how to observe how the different species investigated where the zoo was rated as excellent 20.41%, 43.45% good, regulate 28.98% and 8.16% as bad, showing that the institution has shortcomings in the management they perform, also note that exhibitors do not have the conditions necessary nor sufficient to maintain each species space, 3 surveys were also applied to veterinary and 1 the zoo caretaker, in order to obtain specific information on food and health that is handled at the zoo, it demonstrated that the methods of healing used in the zoo to maintain the quality of life of animals shown in the same way that deworming perform the species in captivity, however the use of vaccination schedules is not handled within the zoo; in terms of food, diets developed by zoo veterinarians are well structured according to the requirements that each species needs, based on nutrition books for wild animals in captivity.
