Resumo:Gross motor skills are the ability to coordinate the movements of the whole body allowing the acquisition of skills such as laterality, flexibility, strength, and balance, being important to provide security and autonomy, for this reason the following general objective was proposed to determine the impact of cooperative games in the strengthening of gross motor skills in children from 3 to 4 years old of the Basic Education School Filomena Mora de Carrión in the city of Loja in the period 2022-2023. The present research has a quasi-experimental design and a mixed approach; likewise, the inductive-deductive, analytical-synthetic methods were used and the TEPSI test of Psychomotor Development was used as an instrument, which was applied to a sample of fifteen children through which it was determined that in the pre-test 13% were in the normal level, 27% at risk and 60% in delay, presenting problems in coordination, muscle tone, postural control; In order to reduce this problem, an activity guide based on cooperative games called "With giant steps we reach the goal together" was applied; by means of the post-test it was verified that 40% were at normal level acquiring gross motor control, 33% were at risk and 27% were retarded. It was concluded that cooperative games are playful strategies suitable to enhance the motor development of children, since they favor the stimulation of muscles, bones and nerves, Key words: Locomotion, body movements, cooperative games, gross motor skills.
