| Summary: | Higher education institutions play a critical role by supporting their teaching staff create effective teaching and learning environments for students. Well-designed learning resources encourage students to have more personal contact with information, ideas, and content. Currently, for medical students, practicing with patients in hospitals has been restricted by biosafety standards. Along with this, bioethical principles and recognizing that patients are the object of study, but not of practice or manipulation, because when developing a procedure, you must know and master the technique to be applied to avoid possible iatrogenesis. Because of this, a descriptive, quasi-experimental study of a prospective cross-sectional cohort was developed with the aim of introducing a simulation workshop on the performance of Episiotomy and Episiorrhaphy aimed at ninth cycle of the Medicine students. A teaching practice guide and a video that was recorded in the simulation laboratory of the faculty were developed as an educational resource, both of them comply with the format and objectives of the subject. A simulation workshop was given to students, and they achieved grades in the range from excellent (10 points) to fair (7.50), with the following results: 43.33% with a good score, 40% with very good; 10% with a regular score and 6.67% with an outstanding score. This results shows us that they improved their skills and enriched their learning. Keywords: Simulation, Episiotomy, Episiorrhaphy |
