| Summary: | A study was conducted with the objective of investigating the influence of sex education on the knowledge and skills for the prevention of sexual abuse in fifth grade parallel "A" students of the Santa Mariana de Jesús Educational Unit, 2020-2021, it was a quantitative research, descriptive type, non-experimental, cross-sectional and correlational design, The scientific, descriptive, historical, analytical, hypothetical-deductive, inductive and statistical methods were used, 15 fifth grade students participated, the survey on knowledge of sexuality received in sexual education and the Questionnaire on knowledge of sexual abuse and prevention skills of Leslie Tutty were applied. The results of the survey show that 60% and 73.33% of those investigated have medium level knowledge in the physiological-sexual and sexual abuse areas; in relation to the Tutty Questionnaire, 60% of those investigated indicate medium level in the two dimensions: knowledge and preventive skills. Relating the conceptual hypothesis with the results of the variables, it is concluded that there is an influence of sexual education in the knowledge and skills of prevention of sexual abuse, since those investigated, in a higher percentage, demonstrate knowledge of sexual education, and knowledge of sexual abuse and prevention skills at medium levels; For this reason, the sex education program is proposed to increase knowledge and skills for the prevention of sexual abuse, since it aims to deepen knowledge, coping strategies and increase confidence in children, with the intention that when faced with a situation of sexual abuse, they will be able to identify it and ask for help |
