| Résumé: | The search named: "Didactic resources and literacy in the second grade of "Edgar Vicente Garrido Jaramillo" basic education municipal school, period 2021–2022, had as its general objective; to determine the didactic resources' importance in the literacy learning of the second-grade students of "Edgar Vicente Garrido" basic education municipal school. The investigated variables were the didactic resources and the literacy practices; In the searching process, we used the following methods: scientific, descriptive, analytic, synthetic, inductive, deductive, and statistical; to deepen the information, we interviewed the teacher and students; we applied an evaluation test about Magallanes literacy; the obtained results allowed us to determine the mistakes that students repeat constantly when they read and write, as well as the reading comprehension level. To support the strengthening of literacy, we designed an alternative proposal named "The didactic resources hidden," a proposal that was shaped through pedagogical workshops that were applied satisfactorily. On the basis of these results, we drew the conclusion that the didactic resources constitute an effective didactic strategy for literacy improvement.
