| Summary: | Ankle fractures are injuries affecting joints warm peroneal talar one of the most frequent lower limb and are one of the most common causes that treat orthopedic surgeons in the urgency, and involve a challenge not only for its complexity, but also by the juxta-pararticular location and limited soft tissue coverage In recent times there has been an increase in the prevalence of these lesions, both active elderly patients and young, this is the reason why the study he denominated, “PREVALENCE, COMPLICATIONS AND TREATMENT IN ANKLE FRACTURE IN THE ARMED FORCES SPECIALTIES HOSPITAL N°. 1”, This present study was quantitative, descriptive - transversal, retrospective, the selected patients diagnosed with broken ankle in January-December 2015, in all ages constituted by a universe of 104 patients (n=104),the objectives of this research were: Determine the number of cases, Characterize type the ankle fractures population by age, gender and cause of injury, determine the type of treatment and know the complications of ankle fractures; they are obtained the following results: Prevalence in 2015 61%, frequent age is 41-50 years with 21%, the injured party is the male gender with 56% of cases, it was determined that patients 62% underwent surgery, and the study does not presented any complications by 43%.Key Words: Ankle fracture, complications of ankle fractures, treatment of ankle fractures |
