| Résumé: | The investigation was carried out in Loja city specifically at the Villonaco Wind Power Plant to determine the floristic composition and structure of the forest. Field studies were conducted during January and February 2019, to quantify the diversity of floristic species. Measurements were made in four patches identified on the western side (tree and shrub strata). There were placed plots of 20 x 20 m (400 m2) for trees with DBH ≥ 5 cm, within a subplots of 5 x 5 m ( 25 m2) for shrubs. To analyze the horizontal structure there were taken the diametric classes calculated with the basal area, while for the vertical structure it was taken the total height of the species. For the spatial distribution, the Morisita dispersion index was calculated based on the species presence data. Thirty-one species within 25 genera and 20 families were identifed. The most ecologically important species in the tree stratum were Myrsine andina (Mez) Pipoly and Clusia elliptica Kunth, while in the shrub stratum were Clusia elliptica Kunth and Persea brevipes Meisn. The family with the highest species richness in the tree stratum was Asteraceae, while in the shrub stratum were Ericaceae,Lamiaceae and Asteraceae. In the horizontal structure it was confirmed that it is a young forest, which was corroborated by the vertical structure, since more individuals were found in the dominated stratum. The species are spatially distributed in aggregate basis which can be attributed to the low dispersion of seeds and / or the heterogeneity of the habitat mainly due to edaphic factors. According to all of these, it was proposed a plan for the recovery of degraded areas based on the species of ecological importance identified.
