Cefalea tensional episódica frecuente, en docentes de los colegios fiscales de la ciudad de Loja

The frequent episodic tension-type headache, is included within the primary headaches according to the International Society of Headache (IHS), constituting a problem for people who suffer from it, the greatest affectation occurs between 20 to 50 years, affecting the period of higher productivity, leading to work absenteeism or reduction in productivity; for this reason the present investigation has the purpose of: determining the incidence, clinical manifestations, and triggers. The study was of a cross-sectional and prospective type, was carried out in the tax colleges of the city of Loja, through the application of a survey prior informed consent, which determined the group that was part of the study constituting a sample of 382 teachers , obtaining the following results: the incidence was 710 per 1000 inhabitants, within the manifestations we found: more than 9 episodes per month in 100%, the headache does not get worse with the habitual physical activity in 77.2%, it is accompanied by photophobia by 72.4%. Regarding the epidemiological characteristics: the average age was between 44 and 57 years of age in 70.5%, the main triggering factor was stress in 74%. The present work indicates the high incidence of this pathology in occupational health, which influences the work performance and therefore their quality of life, therefore it would be necessary to carry out a medical follow-up.
