الملخص:The present research analyzed the Domestic Violence experienced by the Elderly people of the "Aging Together" Project in the Ludo Parish, Sígsig Canton in 2023, revealing the level of violence experienced by this group of priority attention within their family system when being cared for by a family member. To understand this issue, the socio-family context was described, the types of violence experienced by elderly people within their family context were identified, and the effects of violence on their family system were analyzed. To achieve this, 14 in-depth interviews were conducted in the homes of preselected users for convenience, whose results were compared with the theoretical framework developed during the literature research process. These results were reported in this research to determine whether the care received by the elderly person is out of affection from family members or out of obligation, as defined in the Organic Law for Elderly People. It was also investigated whether family systems agree on the care required by this priority attention group or if intra-family conflicts prevail for this reason. It is essential to consider how the "My Best Years Pension" program influences the tolerance towards the elderly person, besides their level of dependence on the family system, which is a key factor in maintaining the care that should be provided by the family caregiver. Another important factor to consider is the level of attachment between the elderly people and their first, second, and third-degree blood relatives which determines the quality of care they receive from their family and the support they require during this stage of their life.
