| Summary: | Creativity is part of the highest and most complex potential of human beings, as it is an inherent capacity of their nature. This ability is expressed through invention, innovation, and the search for original solutions to any type of problem. The objective of this research was to determine how artistic expression strengthens creativity in preparatory-level children at Unidad Educativa José Ángel Palacio in the city of Loja during the 2024-2025 academic period. A mixed-method approach was used to obtain and analyze both quantitative and qualitative data. Additionally, the study followed a non-experimental design with a descriptive scope. The inductivedeductive and analytical-synthetic methods were applied throughout the research. Similarly, observation was used as a data collection technique, and Frank Williams' Creativity Assessment Package (CAP) was employed as an instrument to evaluate the level of creativity in a sample of twenty-five preparatory-level children. The results showed that 96% of the children were at a low-medium level of creativity, while 4% were at a medium level. These findings were attributed to factors such as limited imagination, excessive dependence on instructions, momentary mental blocks, and a lack of initiative. Based on this analysis, an activity guide titled "Imagine Without Borders and Create Without Limits" was developed. The guide incorporates various techniques and forms of artistic expression as these serve as key promoters and stimulators of creativity, fostering reflection, critical thinking, and effective adaptability to life’s challenges. Additionally, an in-depth and substantial review of studies confirmed the importance of using dry, wet, and mixed techniques across different forms of artistic expression, including painting, drawing, engraving, sculpture, crafts, ceramics, and goldsmithing |
