This paper titled "ALCOHOL AS A RISK FACTOR AND ITS IMPACT ON THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF PARTNERS SOMEC unionized (UNION OF MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT OPERATORS AND CAMINEROS of Loja and Zamora Chinchipe)." Held in the Operators Union and Mechanical Equipment Camineros Loja and Zamora Chinchipe, Loja City, focused on the consumption of alcohol causes adverse effects in the behavior of workers making it difficult to have good relationships within and outside the institution; thus he was raised as a general objective: "Design a proposal for intervention to help reduce alcohol consumption unionized workers (SOMEC) UNION OF MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT OPERATORS AND CAMINEROS of Loja and Zamora Chinchipe." The specific objectives, allowed to establish actions that facilitated identifying theories on the subject of alcoholism, which led to know and handle the issue of how best to establish intervention strategies and provide alternative solutions to the current diagnosis of alcohol consumption as a risk factor. With regard to the methodology, the research is part of the scientific method that it provides the opportunity to study and transform the everyday lives of people. In the development of this research work necessary information is collected through the application of research tools such as surveys, interviews and observation, the same as workers and union leaders are applied in order to obtain accuracy and reliability research, resulting in the consumption of alcohol causes adverse effects in the behavior of workers making it difficult to have good relationships within and outside the institution thus affecting the quality of life of the same. In conclusion we can say that alcohol is a social problem that is present in the labor coexistence, also it has severe implications that affect the behavior, conduct, on the basis of household members and has negative effects on the process development of quality of life To counter the investigated problem to managers of the institution together with the 5 workers and families to develop activities of solution through the design of a proposed intervention to help reduce alcohol consumption in the unionized workers (SOMEC) UNION recommended OPERATORS AND MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT CAMINEROS of Loja and Zamora Chinchipe, "so the families of the workers manage to enjoy healthy and stable environments to maintain a quality of life with dignity and respect
