Zusammenfassung:study was carried out in the city of Nueva Loja, canton Lago Agrio, focusing on proposals for alternatives to reuse solid waste from glass that is generated in the city as these are not being used properly and as a result of them Confine them to the final disposal cells of the landfill. The research focused on the characterization, quantification and typification of the waste generated in the city center, for that was taken into consideration the sectors North 1 and 2 that correspond to the recycling program, and manual scanning it does it in the central thoroughfares of the city. A cause-and-effect matrix was used to determine the impacts. The data obtained from the characterization of the glass were: In the North sector 1 glass production is 11.20 Ton / week, which 4.90 tons correspond to white glass, and 6.3 tons of dark glass. In the North sector 2 a generation of 4.13 Ton / week of white glass and a 6.27 Ton / week of dark glass was identified. The environmental impacts caused to the landfill do not exceed 6.5 in valuation (Significant), do not cause contamination of the natural resources by themselves, in the physical environment the solid residues of glass do not cause contamination of the soil. The most suitable reuse proposals are: Use of ground glass for mixing as a base Mixing as base in road construction, Use of ground glass as an aggregate for concrete in replacement of fine aggregate, Use of ground glass as a replacement of aggregates in the Construction of blocks.
