Shrnutí:Family functionality is a set of interpersonal relationships that allow achieving the integral development of its members, as well as a favorable state of health. The purpose of this research was to analyze family functionality during the pandemic in high school students from Beatriz Cueva de Ayora School. It was a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study, with the participation of 193 students. The FFSIL family functioning test was used as an instrument, which evaluates family functionality through seven categories: cohesion, harmony, communication, permeability, affectivity, roles and adaptability. The analysis of the results showed that 64.8% are female, 36.8% are 15 years old and 69.4% come from an urban area; as for the education of the parents, 44% have primary education and 76.2% have a trade occupation; according to the type of functionality, 54% belong to a moderately functional family. Additionally, the relationship between sociodemographic characteristics and family functionality was established and it was determined that there is no statistically significant relationship; however, when relating the type of family and family functionality, a statistically significant intercategory relationship was found, where it is evident that the nuclear family is strongly related to the moderately functional family; in relation to the dimensions, they are within an acceptable range; based on the results obtained, an intervention proposal was generated to contribute to the improvement of family relationships. In conclusion, the students have a moderately functional family in the face of the pandemic
