| Shrnutí: | Agricultural irrigation is one of the oldest practices used to produce food, involving the artificial provision of water to the soil. Drip irrigation is a growing method due to its precision and high efficiency in water application, this method allows optimal use of water resources. Therefore, the objective of this study is twofold: first, to characterize the irrigation methods used in the San Antonio de las Aradas parish in the Quilanga canton, which will provide an understanding of the current irrigation situation in the parish; second, to evaluate the implementation of a drip irrigation plot in passion fruit cultivation (Passiflora edulis. L) and propose solutions aimed at improving its operation and management, for the benefit of a farm located in the Tuburo neighborhood of the San Antonio de las Aradas parish, Quilanga canton. To achieve this, an evaluation was conducted on the available irrigation facilities and their functioning, by determining the irrigation uniformity, the manufacturing coefficient of variation, and the flow-pressure curve. In addition, an evaluation of the management and the installation available was carried out through an analysis technique and participatory methodology with the user, the irrigation with a good application efficiency give us quality and high-yield crops. As a result, It was identified that sprinkler irrigation predominates in the San Antonio de las Aradas parish, accounting for 78% of the systems used. Out of the installed systems, 53% were designed by a technician. Moreover, 90% of the irrigation users belong to the Chiriacu-Lucero irrigation system board, which currently faces issues with its irrigation canal. The problems with the existing facilities were also identified, and based on the observed deficiencies, changes in the components and design of the facilities are proposed to ensure a longer lifespan of the irrigation method and to attempt to increase passion fruit crop production.
