Crynodeb:The research 'Didactic Games: An Innovative Teaching Strategy for Reading Comprehension' aims to analyze the impact of didactic games on strengthening the reading comprehension of second-grade students, parallel 'A,' at the 'José Ingenieros' Basic General Education School in the city of Loja. It is descriptive research with a mixed approach and a quasi-experimental design. The theoretical framework addresses didactic games and reading comprehension. Scientific, analytical, synthetic, statistical, and descriptive methods were used in the investigative process. Information collection involved an interview with the teacher and a diagnostic evaluation of the students. The investigated population includes one teacher and twenty-two students. The results allow determining that a significant percentage of children need to considerably improve their ability to read and comprehend effectively through games. Therefore, the proposal 'Classroom Intervention Strategies' was designed and implemented. Upon completion, a second evaluation was conducted, showing significant improvements in students' reading, suggesting that didactic games contribute to strengthening reading, a fundamental aspect of improved reading comprehension. In conclusion, didactic games aid in students' reading comprehension.
