Omschrijving
Samenvatting:The purpose of this research is to determine the psychosocial factors associated with the initiation of early sexual intercourse in a group of adolescents. To this end, information was collected from 142 adolescents, men and women from the third year of high school of the San Francisco de Asís Educational Unit in the canton of Zamora. The research was descriptive-correlational, with a qualitative approach quantitatively, as data collection tool was used a survey designed by the researcher that includes socio-demographic data and aspects related to sexuality taken from the survey proposed by Duran (2017) and psychosocial factors proposed in the survey carried out by Santelli (2004) based on the theory of behavioural science. According to the results, 78.2% of participants started sexual relations. The average age of sexual intercourse is 15.69 years. The psychosocial factors that influence the onset of early sexual intercourse are: permissive attitude towards the onset of sexual activity, lack of self-efficacy to reject sex, lack of sexual norms about abstaining from sex, there are no barriers or obstacles to buying a condom, poor communication with parents about abstinence or condom use, adequate knowledge about sexually transmitted diseases and condom use. Finally, a psychological intervention plan is designed to promote a healthy, safe and responsible sexuality, thus avoiding future consequences at the biopsychosocial level for the individual. Keywords: adolescence, sexuality, sexual relations, psychosocial factors.
