Factores asociados con el abandono de los adultos mayores en el barrio Piuntza Parroquia Guadalupe Cantón Zamora, año 2015

Guadalupe, cantón Zamora. The techniques of interview and observation were applied to 48 elderly adults to obtain the information. Its design was descriptive, bibliographic, and temporal, and the following results were obtained: That the main causative factors of abandonment Factors causing the abandonment, Biological Factor: Abandonment by age 80-89 years with 22.92%, male gender with 41.67%, physical disability such as deafness with 41.67%, Psychosocial Factor: Indian Ethnicity with 8.33% Marital status widower with 39.58%, level of education 8,33% none Occupation QQDD with 54.17%, social habits of alcohol 31.25%, Family Factor: Load husband familiar with 54.17%, average family relationship with 43.75%, form several households with 6.25%, economic Factor: Saving himself with 33.33%, lower economic income <199 with 81 , 25%. partial abandonment with 81.25% and 18.75% within minimum parameters considered by the author was identified; likewise factors associated with abandonment: Diseases acquired 100%, chronic degenerative diseases with 77.08%. This is the reason that a nursing action plan was carried out, aimed at reducing the level of abandonment through diverse health, recreational and educational activities for the elderly, family members, the health team, and the community at large. Concluding that there is neglect in the research population it affects the social, family and emotional environment, generated by advanced age and failure to maintain good family relationships Key Words: Associated Factors, Neglect, Elderly
