Opis
Streszczenie:The present research work is a contribution to the scarce Ecuadorian repertoire specifically for percussion ensembles available in the Music Arts program at the National University of Loja. Through the use of musical arrangements, the aim is to combine these two variables that require attention: Ecuadorian music and percussion ensembles, taking into consideration the different genres that stem from the three main traditional music styles, namely indigenous, mestizo, and Afro-Ecuadorian. With respect to traditional Ecuadorian music, one of the main objectives of this proposal is to contribute to the strengthening and/or construction of student identity in the percussion program by interpreting Ecuadorian repertoire in the format of a percussion ensemble. It is also important to highlight the relationship between percussion and rhythm, and how practice with percussion instruments can provide students with greater sensitivity towards rhythm. The research experience allowed for an approach to Ecuadorian traditional music, its history, influences, and musical characteristics in each of its genres. Similarly, it provided an opportunity to establish contact with various actors related to the field of percussion education, gaining insights from each of them, which significantly contributed to the selection and elaboration of the five arrangements that form part of the artistic product derived from this curricular integration work. The qualitative approach was used for the research, which enables the study of reality in its natural context, analyzing and interpreting the data obtained to comprehensively understand the topic of study. Additionally, this project focuses on the area of music composition and arrangement in the Music Arts program at the National University of Loja. Therefore, the design is based on an artistic research, aimed at creating an artistic product through the research process. Keywords: Ecuadorian repertoire, Percussion ensemble, Traditional music, Identity, Rhythm.
