The etiology at present is unknown but it is attributed to genetic, hormonal, psychological and neurotransmitter factors. The objective of this project is to determine the relationship between the symptoms of Premenstrual Syndrome and the academic performance of the students of the Nursing Career at the National University of Loja, as well as to know the frequency of the students affected and the main symptoms presented. The study was conducted in a total of 228 students, the research was cross-descriptive and the technique used for data collection was the structured survey.
