Zusammenfassung:The purpose of this research study was to analyze the causes contributing to the sensation of insecurity in the Nangaritza canton, considering the perceptions of its inhabitants. Both qualitative and quantitative methods were employed: qualitative information was obtained through direct observation of the main problems related to insecurity, followed by the design and implementation of a survey to collect quantitative data, which were tabulated, graphed, processed, and analyzed. The results revealed significant findings regarding security; despite limited official crime figures, the lack of reports suggests an underestimation of criminality, as 8 out of 10 people do not report incidents. Additionally, violence against vulnerable groups, mainly women, was identified, with a total of 23 cases in 2023. Finally, the geographical distribution of crime shows significant disparities, with areas like Guayzimi standing out for their higher crime rates, with 2 out of 4 people mentioning it. Based on these results, a security strategy is proposed to be implemented in the Nangaritza canton, with three well-defined objectives and concrete actions recommended for implementation. This strategy addresses the underlying causes of insecurity and promotes collaboration between the community and local authorities. Active community participation is encouraged, along with increasing the presence and capacity of local security forces, and promoting the implementation of technological solutions. Additionally, the strategies have a participatory approach that recognizes the importance of collaboration between the Decentralized Autonomous Government, the National Police of Ecuador, the Cantonal Board for Comprehensive Rights Protection, and the community.
