Riassunto:Ecuador is a developing country where there are various problems that gradually affect people in different ways, and are caused by different factors: economic, social, political, cultural and religious. Child abuse being one of the most acute of late social phenomena. The attentive child abuse against the most basic rights of children and adolescents enshrined in a series of treaties, conventions and laws. Sadly this problem is a massive, daily and underreported among Latin Americans and the world in general actually. Embodied in various forms, including physical, emotional or psychological abuse, rape and sexual abuse, and is set within the home, at school, at work, in the community and in care and justice systems rarely prosecute the perpetrators. So that children and adolescents are attacked precisely those spaces and places that should be protection, affection, encouraging their development, stewardship and promotion of their rights. One factor that confers high vulnerability is the lack of autonomy derived from his age and consequent high levels of emotional, economic and social dependence on adults or institutions, making it difficult to curb the situation suffering, ask for help or report the facts. Most alarming is that there are no effective mechanisms to assist and protect the overall development of these vulnerable as far despite efforts by the government and other institutions, has developed an effective response to child abuse and major difficulty is the lack of information on their actual size and characteristics, especially when it occurs within the home and family context. However, based on records obtained from allegations of child abuse that are made from different institutions in sectors such as health and education, or their own families, it can be seen that this phenomenon is increasing every year. No doubt there is a need to obey greater social awareness about the problem, the enactment of laws to protect children and adolescents and to punish violence and primarily to the implementation and adoption of mechanisms oriented prevention, early detection, diagnosis, monitoring and preventing the recurrence of child maltreatment. Therefore, the protection of children and adolescents is everyone as the extent of child abuse is epidemic and does not distinguish social class, ethnicity or gender. Today the problem of child abuse has been known and addressed from different perspectives by the Ecuadorian state, but without ensuring the full protection of the rights of children and adolescents. This situation is evident in the absence of comprehensive policies from the state and in the absence of programs and allocation of scarce resources to ensure the prevention, protection and restoration of the rights of those affected.
