| Özet: | The interaction between children and pets has the potential to influence positively in a variety of aspects in the life of the children, such as physical and emotional well-being. The main goals of this research were to determine the scientific evidence of the psycho-emotional benefits of living with pets in childhood; to identify the psycho-emotional benefits of living with pets in childhood; and to design an informative guide with the benefits of living with pets in childhood. It was focus on a qualitative investigation, with cross-sectional cut with exploratory, analytic, correlational, and descriptive scope. The methodology included an exhaustive review of scientific literature obtained from databases such as Scielo, Redalyc, and Dialnet, with a sample of 11 articles and with the contribution of 4,521 people. The analysis of the data allows us to assert that living with pets promotes psycho-emotional skills such as empathy, emotional self-regulation and self-esteem in children, helping them to reduce the level of stress and loneliness. Based on the findings, an informative guide is designed to explore the psycho-emotional benefits of living with pets and provide strategies that promote responsibilities and healthy relationships between children and their pets. This research provides new approaches to understanding the influence of pets in childhood, offering mechanisms to support the emotional well-being of children and their families |
