| Samenvatting: | The didactic strategies are fundamental to improve the TLP, since they facilitate the understanding and active participation of the students in such process, this is evidenced in the significant improvement of the construction of learning in them. The objective of this research was <<To promote the construction of significant learning in students, through the application of innovative didactic strategies, which improve the teaching and learning process of the Biology subject, in the 2nd year of Baccalaureate of "27 de Febrero" High School, school period 2022 - 2023>>. For the research, the inductive method and the exploratory type design were used. An approach to the educational environment was made and through direct observation the problem was identified, then through bibliographic research the intervention proposal is built and developed, for the solution of the mentioned problem. In addition, it has a qualitative approach, since, particularities were determined such as: the lack of implementation of innovative teaching strategies, the passive role of students, among others, which causes their low academic performance. On the other hand, it corresponds to Participatory Action Research (PAR), since, during the development of the intervention, both the researcher and the research subjects actively participated to solve the identified problem. The results obtained from the work show that, strategies such as: experimentation, learning by discovery and cooperative learning, among others, enhanced the construction of significant learning in students and, therefore, improved their academic performance, evidencing this in the comparison of grades obtained by the students before and after the intervention. It is concluded that, with the application of innovative didactic strategies, it is possible to improve the teaching and learning process of Biology subject, thus promoting the construction of significant learning in students and therefore their academic performance.
