In this context, the present study contributes to the knowledge about the dynamics of growth of Eucalyptus saligna Smith at 4 years of age, in a forest plantation of 30 hectares located in the La Soledad farm, Alamor parish, Puyango canton of the province of Loja. The research determined the growth of the species in diameter (cm), height (m), basal area (m2) and volume (m3) from the measurement of dasometric variables. Likewise, a mathematical model was established for the construction of volume tables, which can be used in subsequent research. To carry out this research, sampling plots were established in the plantation and the diameter and height of the individuals were measured. A total of 1066 individuals were recorded at 48 months of age in the sampled area (1.55 hectares). With the data obtained, an analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed to determine the growth of the dasometric variables. The results showed that the planting of Eucalyptus saligna Smith continues in the growth stage; therefore, the greatest growth and increase at 48 months of age, still does not reach the break-even point. Keywords: Analysis of variance, growth and increase, dasometric variables, forest plantations, Eucalyptus saligna.El establecimiento de plantaciones forestales es una actividad de gran importancia para el sector económico, social y ambiental, debido a que ayuda a disminuir la presión directa que reciben los bosques nativos por la deforestación, así también permite satisfacer la demanda de madera a nivel mundial que es utilizada como materia prima y forma parte de la restauración ecológica contribuyendo a mejorar los servicios ecosistémicos. En este contexto, el presente estudio aporta al conocimiento sobre la dinámica de crecimiento de Eucalyptus saligna Smith a los 4 años de edad, en una plantación forestal de 30 hectáreas ubicada en la finca La Soledad, parroquia Alamor, cantón Puyango de la provincia de Loja. La investigación determinó el crecimiento de la especie en diámetro (cm), altura (m), área basal (m2) y volumen (m3) a partir de la medición de las variables dasométricas. Asimismo, se estableció un modelo matemático para la construcción de tablas de volumen, el mismo que puede ser utilizado en investigaciones posteriores. Para llevar a cabo esta investigación, se estableció parcelas de muestreo en la plantación y se realizó la medición de diámetro y altura de los individuos. Se registró un total de 1066 individuos a los 48 meses de edad en el área muestreada (1,55 hectáreas). Con los datos obtenidos, se realizó un análisis de varianza (ANOVA) para determinar el crecimiento de las variables dasométricas. Los resultados demostraron que la plantación de Eucalyptus saligna Smith continúa en etapa de crecimiento; por lo tanto, el mayor crecimiento e incremento a los 48 meses de edad, aun no logra el punto de equilibrio.
