Riassunto:The following thesis work aims to explore hydroponic techniques, materials, and devices involved in designing and constructing an aeroponic prototype applicable in urban spaces for vegetable cultivation, being its goal to offer a sustainable and efficient solution to the current challenges faced by agriculture and society due to population growth and scarcity of resources traditionally used in food production; showing several advantages like high production rates, short crop cycles, reduced crop diseases and pests, and maximum resource efficiency, all within limited spaces such as balconies, terraces, and urban areas in general. An analytical methodology was employed to evaluate various hydroponic techniques and prototype models, leading to the selection of the most suitable techniques for this research based on adaptability, efficiency, ease of maintenance, and material availability in the market. Subsequently, the design, construction, and implementation of the prototype began. For the nutrient solution distribution, calculations were made to select appropriate pipes and a centrifugal pump; to control variables such as pH level, electrical conductivity (EC), and temperature, a parameter monitor was installed for comprehensive water quality control. The prototype's validation involved a productivity comparison and a water consumption analysis between the traditional cultivation method and the selected technique, showing that hydroponic cultivation represents an 89.3% in production effectiveness and a 93% increase in water conservation; therefore, implementing hydroponics is an innovative and efficient solution for short-cycle crop cultivation.
