Yhteenveto:Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the main forms of presentation of cancer in the digestive tract, and for reasons of embryological differentiation, clinical presentation and treatment, anatomical location, right or left, plays an important role in survival. The objectives of the present study were: To determine the frequency of colorectal cancer according to the anatomical location in patients treated at the Oncological Hospital SOLCA of Loja; To estimate the five-year survival of patients with colorectal cancer treated at the Oncological Hospital SOLCA of Loja; and To establish the relationship between the anatomical location and the survival of colorectal cancer in patients treated at the Oncological Hospital SOLCA of Loja. The study is retrospective with a quantitative approach. The sample was 157 patients who met the inclusion criteria. The data were collected from the medical records that appear in the Hospital Management Information System SOLCA - Loja and in the civil registry. The results showed that 81.5% of CCR has left location and only 18.5% is right, in addition the global survival to five years of the CCR was 42.0%, being 41% for the left and 43 % for the right. Using the Log-Rank test, it was established that for the studied population there is no relationship between the survival of the CCR and its anatomical location, whether this right or left (p>0,05). In conclusion, the anatomic location of the CRC is not a predictor of the survival of patients five years after diagnosis. Keywords: Neoplasia, Survival, Digestive System
