Zusammenfassung:This research paper entitled: The study of small games and their impact on the physical development of children in the first year of basic education of the Education Unit Damerval Lauro Ayora city of Loja. 2014; whose objectives were to determine whether the planning and implementation of small games, are contributing to the improvement and development body and promoting innovative strategies for children; and analyze whether teachers have difficulty teaching through little games to improve and strengthen the physical development of children; literature review revolves around variables small games and physical development of children 5 years old; the methods used were scientific, deductive hypothetical; inductive - deductive; the analytic - synthetic and statistical method; the techniques applied was the survey of seven classroom teachers and physical education and 49 children and recording growth of children (as) in percentiles, more than 10 observation forms to the physical education classes. Made discussion and analysis addressed the following headings: planning and implementation of small games (Block games) are not contributing to the improvement and physical development of children; or innovative strategies for promoting physical development of children; teachers have difficulty teaching through little games; therefore it recommends that first-year teachers plan and organize little games to body development, through innovative methods and strategies to facilitate the physical development, so it is important that the Ministry of Education to conduct seminars and workshops for teaching small games which will favor the physical development of children.
