Summary:Parasitic intestinal diseases are one of more common infections around the world and with more high level of impact in poor communities, it due to affect to growing children that are in the first years of education. This illness has relation with sanitary conditions and the hygiene, of places where they live. For these reasons, this research was done in order to: identify type of parasites of fecal matter; know sanitary-hygienic factors; determine the most affected people group according to age; and connect intestinal illness caused by parasites with hygienic- sanitary conditions, by means of a descriptive and transverse research. It analyzes 65 samples by means of a direct examination with saline and lugol’s solution, from there it can identify like the most common protozoon: Entamoeba histolytica, with 86%; respect to hygienic factors, this research can show the following results: use of not treated water 69%; presence of vectors 69%, not wash hands before to eat 54%, not wash food before to eat 49%, play with sand 46%, not wash hands after to go to bathroom 38%, and inadequate elimination of rubbish 31%. All these hygienic conditions are related with develop of intestinal parasites, and, the most affected age group is children aged 8 to 10; for these reasons, is necessary to recommend to the health authorities of Loja canton, make inspections and examinations that allow to identify at an opportune moment, the parasites that can be affecting to children aged 5 to 12 and that it can be causing damages in their health.
