Factores de riesgos asociados a los síndromes geriátricos en los adultos mayores del centro gerontológico del cantón Yantzaza. Año 2015

The present investigation was to determine the risk factors associated with geriatric syndromes seniors from Canton Yantzaza Gerontology Center. The method, descriptive, transversal field was used. survey techniques and observation instruments with the questionnaire and the observation guide applied to 54 elderly were used. The results were predominance of females with 53.70%, age 65 to 73 years with 48.15 %, from 70.37 % primary education , occupation farmer with 46.30% , 77.78% of urban origin marital status 38.89 widowers , retired economic situation 44.44 %, the current Hypertension disease was 31.48%. Factors were falls with 50.00 % have visual , cognitive 20.37 % have dementia problems , immobility 51.85 % have balance problems , urinary incontinence was 18.52% for the urinary infections. he complications were determined in falls the presented hematomas 55.56% , 24.07 % in cognitive has senile dementia , immobility with 33.33 % have muscle spasms, urinary incontinence followed the 18.52% with ulcers skin . Based on the results the author made the intervention plan home visits focused on training , workshops , psychotherapy, exercise , and rehabilitation . It is concluded that geriatric syndromes are present in higher percentage drops the 50.00 % and 51.85 % immobility, complications are more severe senile dementia and its effects and muscle contractures ulcers.
