সংক্ষিপ্ত:The general objective of this study is to design a financial education program for high-school students of “Unidad Educativa Fiscomisional EDUCARE” in order to teach and reinforce their knowledge about finances. The methodology used in this study comprises a descriptive and quantitative approach and a deductive, an inductive, and an analytical method. Thirty-six high school students were selected as the population of the study and a survey and an interview were the instruments applied to collect information and obtain the results. In this research, it was determined that the students initially had a level three of financial knowledge, which is equivalent to a medium level according to the standards of the OECD’s PISA model. The students at this level apply concepts and terms in situations that they consider relevant. Once the financial education program was implemented, the participants improved from level three to level five, which is high in terms of finances. In conclusion, this type of program is efficient to enhance and strengthen the financial skills of young people since these skills will influence their financial decision-making when administrating their monetary resources.
