| Тойм: | Imports are transcendental in the economy, they allow covering the unsatisfied needs of a country either due to the lack of raw materials or due to the lack of technological inputs to develop materials required by a certain productive sector. This research is carried out with the purpose of analyzing the behavior of imports of the construction sector in the Ecuadorian economy in the periods 2011-2021.The study used the deductive method, starting from a general assumption to reach conclusions regarding the type of construction materials and the amounts imported. An interview was used as an instrument to collect complementary information, with the collaboration of the director of the Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investment and Fishing and the importer Ferromax. It was obtained as a result that construction is an industry that occupies the eighth position of the eighteen with the highest contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) with 10% and 11%, during the analyzed periods; on the other hand, it was determined that the import of inputs required for the development of construction activities is done according to their state, whether natural, semi-elaborated or elaborated; the latter represent 94% of the total imports of the sector. Based on this information, strategies and a guide for the importer are proposed so that interested parties can clarify doubts regarding the processes involved in importing. In conclusion, the construction sector dynamizes the country's economy with an important contribution to the GDP, the import of materials covers the local needs due to the shortage in the national territory, so it is essential to strengthen the supply processes for the benefit of local productivity. |
