Shrnutí:Agroforestry systems are part of active restoration activities that favor achieving food security and reducing the use of pesticides in agricultural organizations, this form of management and use of ancestral resources has not been recognized as an axis of formal research that reflects its advantages in the social, ecological and economic aspect that it entails. In this context, the main objective of this research was to generate scientific and technical information with native tree species in a coffee plantation, which was developed in the Quinta Experimental La Argelia, province of Loja, Ecuador during the period April-September of the year 2022. The methodology for the first objective was to establish an agroforestry system, for this began with the study of soil conditions to raise the baseline of work, once with this the species were selected, based on the edaphic characteristics of the effective work area which were subjected to an acclimatization process fifteen days before being transplanted with their respective distancing. In the second objective, data on the microclimate and growth of the species was recorded, the microclimate was monitored with the use of portable equipment at two different times (10 am and 4 pm) these periods of time due to the position of the sun in them, considering the variables of temperature, speed of seeing and relative humidity. As for growth, it was recorded based on two variables, qualitative and quantitative, of each of the five associated species that are: C. montana, I. edulis, A. acuminata, C. reticulata, C. arabica. The results show that the distance to which the species were established is favoring their growth; That is why the survival percentages obtained was 87%, which is categorized in good way, the potential of these species to be associated in agroforestry systems with coffee could be verified. On the other hand, species C. montana reached a height of 39.1 cm and a diameter at the base of 24.4 mm or 2.4 cm, there was the greatest increase in both height and diameter at the base for species I. edulis, a result that was corroborated by studies developed in the same species for initial development after being transplanted to a given area that also reflects its agroforestry potential. The optimization of land use to prevent competition between the five incorporated species and the evaluation of their behavior in terms of growth, are an alternative for the establishment of agroforestry systems, since it contributes to increase a greater number of points that serve as landscape connectors and increase productivity, with species of multiple uses.
