Enfermedades de los ancianos como causas de abandono familiar

The present study has the purpose to investigate the most frequent diseases of biggest adults and the factors that they provoke the family drop and abandon them at home care.’’ Hogar Santa Teresita Del Niño Jesús" of Loja city. For which an intervention proposal will be constructed to improve the quality of life in the biggest adults. It is a descriptive, cross sectional, of field and bibliographical, with a universe of 76 biggest adult, taking a sample of 50 biggest adult who met the inclusion criteria. The most frequent diseases as causes of abandonment of the biggest adult by means of the application of an interview to the biggest adults and to its minders who corroborate the information. The data found that disease which is more present in biggest adults is the hypertension by 29%, followed by diabetes mellitus type II in 21%, arthritis in 17%, osteoporosis in 13%, senile dementia 8 %; pneumonia 2 %, between other diseases as (physical disability, deafness, epilepsy) finds 10 %. The main factors as cause of abandonment are inside, the economic factor that it determines that the family does not provide the food to them in 39 %, elegant doctor in 27 %, clothing in 19 % and housing 15 %, for not being bearers of the household economy; the psychological factor expresses the fear of physical aggressions of their children as assault pulling hair and pushing in a 69.23%; his grandchildren at 17.31%; neighbors in 13.46%; the familiar maltreatment includes criticism in 32%, insults by 16%; threats by 8%; leaving them alone in a 44%; the social factor shows that they relatives do not respect their thoughts by 74%, going so far as to feel alone in 90 %; having a familiar dynamics of disfunctional type in 86 %; circumstances why the abandonment of relatives occurs in this household of biggest adults Hogar Santa Teresita "Del Niño Jesus" of Loja city, so it required strengthening the family structure with moral, ethical values which respect and dignified to bigger adults.
