Samenvatting:The present thesis: "THE FAMILY ACTIVITI AND THEIR INFLUENCE IN THE ACCADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF THE STUDENTS OF EIGHTH YEAR OF BASIC GENERAL EDUCATION OF THE "SEIS DE OCTUBRE” EIGHT SCHOOL AT HUAQUILLAS IN THE SCHOOL YEAR 2011 - 2012", It has carried out it according bye laws established in the National Loja University. The general Objective served me in the research was Develop a study about the family activity and their influence in the performance low of the students of Eighth Year of Basic General Education of the “Six the October” high school in school year 2011- 2012, at Huaquillas. The methods used to carry out the research were: scientific, inductive - deductive, analytic synthetic, statistical and comparative model, also it support in the techniques used like: the observation, the instruments are applied for the abstraction of information were: parents interview of the students' of eighth year basic general education of “Seis de Octubre” high school at Huaquillas, to establish the organization type and the activity thy family of the students and teacher´s interview to determine the cause of the performance low of the students of the “Seis de Octubre” high school and the academic report to be able to verify how they are exposed in their academic performance. Of the results obtained in the interview applied to the parents where takes to the conclusion that the family activity affects a lot of 83%, little 8% and nothing 8% to the young’s and the performance is affected in the teacher’s interview for the open mindedness in 100%, the abandonment in 50% the economic factor in 83% the poverty in 66% lives alone in, 10% and the 1% for divorce, also verify in the academic report of the study’s with low notes: excellent in 23% very good in 33% good in 28% and not good in 16% in were analyze the family activity if it affects in the academic performance of the young’s.
