| الملخص: | Intestinal parasitosis is an infection caused by protozoa or helminths; closely linked to poverty and related to inadequate personal hygiene and food. The present investigation: "KNOWLEDGE ON PREVENTION OF INTESTINAL PARASITOSIS IN MOTHERS WITH CHILDREN UNDER 5 YEARS OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD NEIGHBORHOOD OF THE CITY OF LOJA" had as objective: to determine the knowledge that mothers of children under 5 years have about prevention of Intestinal parasitosis of the Barrio Nuevo Sunrise of the city of Loja. The study is cross-sectional, descriptive and quantitative. The technique used for the collection of the information was the interview and the instrument the questionnaire. We worked with a sample of 69 mothers. The results obtained were entered into the SPSS V.24 program, reaching the conclusion that the participating mothers are between 26 and 35 years old; single and married; with an average of 3 children, dedicated to housework; and with secondary education. Regarding the knowledge about preventive measures of intestinal parasitosis, most of the respondents know the hygienic conditions in their home (89%), the adequate personal hygiene in their children (92%), on the other hand they do not know the frequency of deworming (76% ), 88% use hand washing, consume boiled, chlorinated and potable water (68%), boil it for 5 minutes (60%), properly wash their food (99%), handle garbage properly by covering it (84%) ) and as another preventive measure they know that pet waste should be collected, disposed of properly and kept away from home (78%).
