Furthermore, 15 female–mice were used by treatment of the strain CDR-51 with an average weight of 36 g. The food supply was in the morning and in the afternoon; a completely randomized design was used with three treatments, fifteen repetitions. Besides, the variables of this study were the consumption of food, weight, food efficiency, weight of litter at weaning, the litter size at weaning, sex of the litter and litter survival. A mixed model of repeated measurements was used for statistical analysis. The results gotten are the following: the litter on control size is 12% and survival is 8.40%, the weight of the litter as media groups of treatments have a 50.6% and with respect to the number of females obtained in the treatments the chia Group 5% had a greater number of females with 47.9%. In conclusion, changes in the diet of fatty acid profile can modify the size and sex of the litters.

In conclusion, changes in the diet of fatty acid profile can modify the size and sex of the litters.El presente trabajo de investigación se desarrolló con el propósito de determinar el efecto de diferentes niveles de omegas-3 sobre la progenie de ratones (Mus musculus) en tres ciclos reproductivos; para el efecto se definieron tres tratamientos el primero con la adición del 2% de aceite de oliva y 3% de aceite de chía, el segundo con la adición de 5% de chía y el testigo con el 5% de aceite de oliva. Se utilizaron 15 ratones hembras por tratamiento de la cepa CDR-51 con un peso promedio de 36 gr; el suministro del alimento fue en la mañana y por la tarde; se utilizó un diseño completamente aleatorizado con tres tratamientos, quince repeticiones. Las variables de estudio fueron el consumo de alimento, incremento de peso, eficiencia alimenticia, peso de la camada al destete, tamaño de la camada al destete, sexo de la camada y supervivencia de la camada. Para el análisis estadístico se utilizó un modelo mixto de medidas repetidas. Los resultados obtenidos son que el en tamaño de camada en control es del 12% y en supervivencia es de 8,40%, el peso de la camada como media de los grupos de tratamientos tenemos un 50,6% y con respeto al número de hembras obtenidas en los tratamientos el grupo chía al 5% tuvo un mayor número de hembras con un 47,9 %.
