BENJAMIN CARRIÓN Loja CITY PERIOD 2012-2013 , had as its overall objective: Know how self-esteem is related to school performance of students in the tenth year of basic education. The study was descriptive in nature, such methods are used: scientific, inductive -deductive, analytic-synthetic and descriptive, as instruments of self-esteem Test, Lucy Reild and student grades was used. To carry out the research first I positioned myself on the stage of the investigation, to identify possible problems, then I select the most significant, I developed the project, I requested permission to the authorities of the Attorney College Joint Night Dr. Benjamín Carrión, I contacted teens to apply the test, the respective ratings for each student subjects in school secretary was requested, then proceeded to tabulate the results, develop them, build discussion, to finally reach the conclusions and recommendations. The results of the investigation show that levels of self-esteem in the investigation are: 44 % have very good self-esteem, 28% good and 19% rated higher self-esteem. With regard to the level of self -esteem affects school performance, as the scores obtained from the 68 students in different subjects, it is clear that in a 55.89 % reach the learning required and a lower percentage equal to 44.11 % do not achieve the required learning. The study population was 480 adolescents attending the Joint Fiscal Night College Dr. Benjamin Carrion, from which a random sample of 68 students corresponding to the tenth year I select. The conclusions that were reached at the conclusion of this investigation are: self-esteem levels of the investigated students is very good, good and superior in a high percentage; levels greatly influence self-esteem, school performance. |
