Summary:The research called: The family environment and the values teaching of students of ninth year of basic education at “La Dolorosa” high school in Loja city, period 2012 - 2013. The set objective was: To analyze the influence of family environment on values teaching in the investigated students, descriptive study; in a sample of 183 adolescent students, supported in the following methods: scientific, descriptive, inductive, deductive, analytic and synthetic; were used, the Family Social Environment questionnaire (FES) and the Value Scale for Adolescents. The main results are: Regarding the family situation: in medium levels 60.1% maintains a moral religious development and 61.7% social recreational, in family relationship in low level 65% the expressiveness of affection. In the values teaching, in low level are social values which represent 51.9%. Conclusions: The family environment of the researched population the highest percentage express in low levels in the development and family relationship; as for the values teaching, a great percentage express in low level social and personal values. There is an influence of the family environment in the values learning
