Sumari:In this research work the influence of atmospheric pressure is shown in the coefficients of secondary loss in gate valves and ball diameters for half to one inch. To do this research, a questionnaire of tests was done in order to measure the losses cargos in valves. The questionnaire consists of an HP pump, it helps to drive the water through the system, also of pipe, bends, construction unions, reducers rings and valves that are to be studied. The measurements were made at three different locations that are at disparate altitudes in order to vary the atmospheric pressure, which was the city of Loja, Catamayo and Zamora these cities located at 2100, 1300 and 920 meters above sea level (masl ) respectively. After experiment it was observed that the influence of atmospheric pressure in the loss pressure coefficients in valves exists. These coefficients are higher in the city of Loja regarding Zamora and Catamayo. According to the difference of the coefficients it was observed that this is higher coefficients between Loja and Catamayo which height difference is about 800 meters between the coefficients of Catamayo and Zamora whose height difference is 380 meters.
